Bad weather and a flock of birds flying into an aircraft engine could have caused the plane to explode and catch fire.

A South Korean plane burst into flames upon landing at Muan Airport in the south of the country on Sunday, December 29. According to the latest figures from South Korean authorities, more than 120 people died in the crash of the plane, which was carrying 176 passengers and six crew members. The Jeju Air plane, which was flying from Bangkok to South Korea, was carrying mostly South Koreans and Thais. It is not yet known what caused the plane to burst into flames upon landing, but the head of the South Korean Fire Department said bad weather and a flock of birds flying into the plane’s engine could have caused the plane to catch fire.
