California wildfires: 5 dead as blaze spreads to Hollywood Hills, over 100,000 evacuated

What we know about the California wildfires
A massive wildfire that has raged across the greater Los Angeles area has killed at least five people and forced 100,000 people from their homes.
At least five fires are burning across more than 45 square miles, fueled by dry conditions and strong winds that have created unprecedented scenes in a region previously unknown to fire.
The Palisades Fire has burned more than 17,234 acres, nearly 27 square miles. It has destroyed 1,000 structures and is completely uncontained, making it the most destructive in LA history.
The latest blaze, the Sunset Fire, started just before 6 p.m. in the Hollywood Hills and has grown to 60 acres while threatening key landmarks.
More than 350,000 power customers were without power early today, including 200,000 in LA County, the most populous county in the country.
Strong winds in Santa Ana have eased compared to the previous two days, but gusts are still forecast at 40-50 mph today and 50-70 mph tonight and tomorrow morning.
